Miss Edith Dobson left £450,000 in her will to the Archdiocese of Birmingham to benefitchildren.This funded the purchase of Alton Castle and supported the opening of the Children’s Retreat Centre.11 years later, 7,000 children enjoy a retreat at Alton Castle every year.
