Castle Open Day and Sponsored Abseil: Sat. 10th July
The Alton Castle abseil fundraising event is now in its 8th year and this year once again, plucky participants have the opportunity to sign up for the 145 foot descent down the north face of the Castle over-looking the Churnet Valley, and into the grounds below.
For the less daring, but still brave, we will still be offering the original, tamer abseil – the Little Drop - which is approx. 33 feet down the South Towers of the Castle.

The Open Day is held in conjunction with St John’s Parish Garden Party and will include tours of the Castle, archery and climbing wall sessions as well as other stalls and attractions. Everybody is welcome to attend and we look forwardto seeing you there from 1pm onwards.
